Risako Hijikata

I am a Corporate associate in our Tokyo office. I work with Japanese and international clients in various sectors, notably technology and communications, energy and utilities, and automotive.

I have assisted clients with a wide range of cross-border transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations, renewable energy projects, competition law and other regulatory matters, and general corporate advisory work.

I was educated in Japan and England and am fluent in Japanese and English. Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I completed my training and gained legal experience at leading international law firms.

I aim to provide high-quality, pragmatic advice to our clients and support them in cross-border transactions, taking a commercial approach and providing guidance on navigating cultural nuances.
