I am a Senior Associate in our Competition & EU Group working out of the Copenhagen office. I advise both national and international clients on all aspects of competition law as well as certain financial regulations.
As a part of Bird & Bird's international Competition and EU Group, I advise on a wide range of competition law matters, including cartel investigations, internal investigations, contractual relationships, abuse of dominance cases, state aid, merger control and dawn raids. As a result of my extensive hands-on experience from the financial sector, I also advise on matters relating to certain financial regulations, such as PSD2, the EU Interchange Fee Regulation and the Danish Payments Act.
My previous role as an in-house counsel has provided me with a great understanding of what creates value within an organisation, and I enjoy providing proactive, high-quality advice and viable solutions to complicated legal problems.
I have a significant experience in resolving complex legal challenges, such as advising on various types of agreements (distribution, franchising, supply, joint purchasing etc.), working on cases relating to cartels, abuse of dominance, and merger control, where I have conducted cases before both Nordic competition authorities and the European Commission. I have over the years covered a broad range of work in relation to the above, including representing clients in administrative proceedings, court cases, lodging and defending against complaints, filing leniency applications, follow-on and stand-alone damages actions (including multi-jurisdictional cases), and phase I and II merger procedures.
I also have a great experience and understanding of the entire process of conducting internal investigations to uncover potential competition law infringements as well as representing clients that have been subject to a dawn raid by the competition authorities.
Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked 6 years in the competition law department at another leading Danish law firm, before going in-house for almost 5 years in one of the largest Nordic financial institutions where I was leading a dedicated competition law team.
