Viivi Nissinen

I am an associate in our Corporate group in Helsinki, where I work with M&A matters as well as general corporate law.

I joined Bird & Bird in 2024 as an associate trainee and transitioned into an associate role upon completing my traineeship. As a member of the Corporate team, I work closely with our M&A and corporate governance practices, helping clients navigate corporate transactions and regulatory matters. I thrive in fast-paced, cross-border environments where I can collaborate with clients to deliver clear, business-oriented legal solutions tailored to their needs.

Before pursuing my master's abroad, I gained valuable experience in a range of trainee positions, both in-house and within law firms. These roles provided me with a good understanding of the legal challenges businesses face in their operations. Through this experience, I've developed a keen appreciation for the importance of adopting a practical and efficient approach to solving legal issues. Additionally, my studies abroad in the United States and the Netherlands, which focused on commercial and company law, enriched my understanding of corporate structures, transactions, and regulatory frameworks from an international perspective. This background fuels my particular interest in working with international clients and handling both domestic and multi-jurisdictional company law issues.

I am recognized for my proactive and adaptable approach, always ready to take on new challenges. I deliver high-quality legal work and take ownership of my work with precision and reliability. Fluent in both English and Finnish, with a strong working knowledge of Swedish, I aim to provide clients with practical, commercially sound advice that enables them to effectively navigate the complex legal landscape.
