William Schofield

I am a Counsel in the Finance & Financial Regulation group, based in Helsinki. I advise on a range of domestic and international banking and finance transactions, including real estate finance, asset finance, acquisition finance and private placements. I also advise clients on cross border mergers and acquisitions and company law matters.

I joined the Bird & Bird Helsinki office in December 2018, having previously worked at two law firms in London.

I have expertise and experience in a variety of different banking and finance matters. This includes bilateral and syndicated real estate finance, acquisition finance and private placements. I also have expertise in lending secured against a range of fixed and movable assets. My clients include banks, public organisations, private companies and private individuals.

I try to balance the technicalities involved in transactions with a common sense approach to enable clients to reach practical solutions to any issues and ensure that funding is deployed on time.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I qualified as a solicitor in London and worked as an associate in the Banking and Finance team at a law firm in London.

I am a qualified solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
