The amendment to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) came into force on 1 January 2021. In our video series – EEG 2021 & More – our partner Dr Matthias Lang provides information on the latest updates to the EEG 2021, its objectives and effects, as well as its significance for further developments in practice. We also clarify implementation issues and show ways to prepare for the new legal regulations.

The video series at a glance:

  • Here you will find a general overview of the procedure for amending the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).
  • The second part of the series is dedicated to the question of which expansion paths are set for solar, biomass and wind. We also deal with the European background and the criticism that has been levelled at the bill.
  • In our third video, we take a look at grid expansion, clarify changes on the Federal Requirement Plan Act (Bundesbedarfsplangesetz) and examine further procedures. We also explain revisions of further statutes for accelerate permitting and the use of established corridors for supplementary use.
  • In our last video for the time being, we talk about the final contents of the Act, the defined goals and the state aid reservation.
