Bird & Bird appoints Peer Petersen as a partner in Denmark, expanding its Media and Entertainment team

Bird & Bird is pleased to announce media and entertainment lawyer, Peer B. Petersen, joins as a partner today, based in the Copenhagen office.

Peer B. Petersen has been advising clients in the music and film industry for more than 25 years on every aspect of copyright law, including the infringement of rights in regards to music, TV, games and other software. He also advises rights owners who have been exposed to counterfeiting and trademark imitation. Peer has extensive experience with licence, sponsorships and other intellectual property agreements and advises several sports organisations on the commercial exploitation of sports rights, both nationally and internationally.

At Bird & Bird, Peer will lead and develop the Danish Intellectual Property team. The team will work closely with the global Intellectual Property team, with more than 300 colleagues across Bird & Bird's 28 offices, advising on all aspects of intellectual property.

Peer is joined by senior associate Mogens Dyhr Vestergaard, who also joins Bird & Bird's Danish team today.

Mogens primarily advises on intellectual property, IT and telecommunication rights, including the drafting and negotiation of licence and technology contracts and enforcement of software rights. He also advises on IT and intellectual property law due diligence in connection with M&A transactions. Mogens has extensive international experience from working at Martensen Wright, LLP in California for 6 years, where he advised clients on Danish and American business conditions. He is admitted to the Californian Bar, as well as the Danish Bar.
