Bird & Bird's Warsaw office strengthens its Privacy & Data Protection team

Agnieszka Sagan-Jeżowska has been assisting clients for 10 years, and specialises in advising private and state-owned entities on personal data protection. Prior to joining Bird & Bird, she gained her experience working as an Information Security Administrator in companies from the healthcare, insurance, automotive, publishing, production and cooperative sectors. She conducted audits and inspections at the request of the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection. She has also implemented personal data protection procedures, conducted trainings on personal data protection law, and prepared opinions on information security, rules for electronically supplied services, contests and lotteries.  Agnieszka is currently completing her Ph.D. at University of Warsaw.

Marian Giersz has several years of experience in advising clients on data protection and telecommunications law while working in Polish and international law companies. He specialises in administrative and court proceedings before the  Office of Electronic Communications and the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. Marian has supported telecom operators in developing marketing strategies and projects, including their products and marketing activities. He conducted a comprehensive audit of a telecommunications operator regarding subscribers' data collection. He also advised one of the world's largest reinsurance companies on data protection issues. He audited a global network of clothing stores, tire manufacturers, steel producers and a garage network in compliance with personal data protection rules.

Currently, Warsaw office's Privacy & Data Protection team consists of six experts: Piotr Dynowski, Izabela Kowalczuk-Pakuła, Maria Guzewska, Agnieszka Sagan-Jeżowska, Marian Giersz and Marcin Chołuj.

Our lawyers advise clients on both the current privacy and personal data protection regulations, and the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which enters into force on May 2018.

We support clients in making strategic decisions regarding privacy and personal data protection, and advise on establishing business models for personal data transfer, cloud computing, big data, and customer profiling. We conduct audits and develop solutions to minimise risk, as well as represent clients in proceedings before the General Inspector for Personal Data Protection.
