Bird & Bird's pre-eminent position as leaders both in the global and national Intellectual Property field was reaffirmed again at this year’s Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) Global Awards ceremony, which was held last night at the Savoy Hotel in London.
We were named:
These accolades represent a fantastic achievement for Bird & Bird and truly showcase both the local and international strength and quality of the IP practice.
Now in their 12th year, the MIP Global Awards follow the publication of MIP magazine's well-established survey of leading patent, trade mark, and copyright firms. The awards are presented to firms, individuals and companies behind the most innovative and challenging IP work of the past year, as well as those driving the international IP market.
Morag Macdonald, Partner and Co-Head of the International IP Group, commented on the significance of the award for the team, saying: "with the imminent start of the UPC, this gives Bird & Bird's European Patent Litigation team a huge boost to their confidence as they prepare for the advent of the UPC".
Giovanni Galimberti, co-head of Bird & Bird's Italian IP team, says: "We are very proud of this award and the recognition of the quality of all our Italian colleagues, which clearly stood out in the international market. This result confirms that clients choose us for our ability to handle complex and cross-border disputes".
The Italian award has particular resonance for Bird & Bird's Chairman, Massimiliano Mostardini, who has always championed the firm's 'two souls'; strong local expertise and international vision.
Congratulations to the team!
