I am a partner in our international HR Services Group, which I co-head, based in Düsseldorf. I offer more than two decades of experience in advising clients from the banking and financial services, life sciences and healthcare, retail and consumer goods, as well as aerospace, defence and security sectors.

Thomas Hey, a high-profile employment lawyer, has joined Bird & Bird as a partner in Düsseldorf, along with a team including three associates from Clifford Chance in Düsseldorf, Dr. Artur-Konrad Wypych, Leonie Isabelle Pfeufer and Hagen Sporleder as well as trainees and research assistants.

Thomas Hey is an employment law specialist with over 20 years of experience in this field. He has been working for Clifford Chance since 1996, and has been a partner since 2000. He has also been the head of the German employment law practice since 2013. Thomas Hey specialises in individual and collective employment law, employment contract law and social security law. He conducts negotiations with trade unions as well as personnel and works councils. He advises on supervisory board topics and oversees transactions and restructurings. His sector focus is on national and international companies in banking and financial services, life sciences, retail and consumer goods.

Dr. Martin Nebeling, Head of the German Employment group at Bird & Bird says: "I am very happy to welcome Thomas Hey, a very well-known colleague to our Düsseldorf office. He complements our German and international employment law team, which provides comprehensive advice and not exclusively on a transaction-driven basis.  Thomas will use his extensive experience to advise our clients in a targeted and profitable manner. "

Sven-Erik Heun, Head of Germany at Bird & Bird comments: "I warmly welcome Mr. Hey to our team. We are pursuing our own national and international growth strategy for the employment practice, which focuses on sustainable and long-term advice to our clients. Thomas Hey and his team are a powerful addition to the group and fit perfectly with our strategic positioning in this area with a clear view of the digital world of tomorrow."
