Bird & Bird relocates its Budapest office

At the end of July 2023, the Budapest office of international law firm Bird & Bird moved to a new location, the architecturally iconic Roosevelt Office Building. Bird & Bird's new office is situated in the heart of Budapest, surrounded by the beautifully restored historic Széchenyi István Square on the Pest side of the Chain Bridge, from where clients and colleagues alike can enjoy panoramic views across the Danube.

Bálint Halász, Co-Head of Bird & Bird Hungary, says: "Moving to one of the city's most prestigious locations – a factor in the decision-making process – represents an exciting new chapter in our lives. The new office is designed entirely around our unique needs, with the aim of creating an office environment that inspires innovative thinking and creativity while also being welcoming for our colleagues and clients alike."

The new office offers access to many fabulous local amenities and exceptional transport links. In arranging the new space, Bird & Bird's focus was on creating a modern and ergonomic interior coupled with exciting design solutions. The premium A+ category office building excels with its prime location, state-of-the-art design, spacious and inviting common areas, great quality built-in materials and abundant natural light. The building’s ideal city centre location guarantees proximity to the vital cultural, culinary and social scene of the Saint Stephen’s Basilica and Danube Corso area. Together with the adjacent Gresham Palace and Hungarian Academy of Sciences, it forms part of a unique and magnificent architectural ensemble of buildings representing styles from various centuries.

László Nanyista, Co-Head of Bird & Bird Hungary, adds: "The move is in line with the continued growing headcount in Budapest, which now exceeds 70. During the design process, we placed a strong emphasis on innovation and technology to make sure the new premises also suit today's modern and flexible working practices."

The current tenants of the Roosevelt Office Building include the Dr. Rose Private Hospital and the Japanese restaurant Tokio Budapest.

Bird & Bird can look forward to some exciting times in the rest of the year, as, in addition to the move, the company will celebrate its 15th anniversary in Hungary and the CEE region in October with an event at the Royal Guard & Riding Hall. Bird & Bird opened its offices in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland in 2008. The event will be a great occasion for celebrating the firm’s flourishing and growing senior team in Hungary, for highlighting its growing prominence on the market and for boosting local and regional team spirit and collaboration. To mark the anniversary, Bird & Bird will donate a significant sum to the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Society. The amount raised during the event will be used to help the Society's wild bird protection, nature conservation and research programs.

Pál Szabó, Co-Head of Bird & Bird Hungary, says: "We are grateful to our clients, employees and friends for their loyalty to our firm and for being part of our incredible journey in Hungary. We are thrilled to reach this milestone, so many exciting things have happened in the past 15 years. We look forward to meeting new challenges and deepening our commitment to delivering the best client service possible over the decades to come."
