Bird & Bird boosts its team in Ireland with the arrival of leading IP and data litigator Ann Henry

International law firm Bird & Bird grows its team in Ireland with the addition of leading IP and data litigator Ann Henry. She starts at the firm on the 1st of February.

With over 20 years’ experience, Ann represents international companies in pan-European litigation, particularly in the areas of patent litigation and data privacy disputes in the life sciences, technology and retail sectors.

At Bird & Bird, Ann will work closely with IP and tech litigator Michael Finn, data protection expert Anna Morgan and regulatory and public affairs director Francine Cunningham in Ireland as well as the wider Bird & Bird IP, data and UPC teams across Europe. A key part of her role will be to develop the firm’s growing practice around both personal and general data litigation in Bird & Bird’s Ireland office, including regulatory compliance and company-to-company data litigation.

Bird & Bird will continue to grow the firm’s strong offering in Ireland, including in the areas of data protection, intellectual property, corporate, life sciences and technology and communications. Working closely with existing Bird & Bird partners around the network, Bird & Bird Ireland provides clients with a holistic offering – combining leading local Irish knowledge with the global expertise of the firm’s international team.

Sally Shorthose, IP and Life Sciences partner at international law firm Bird & Bird (Ireland/UK), says: “We are delighted to welcome Ann, one of the leading IP, life sciences and data litigators in Ireland, to the firm. Her reputation and specialised skill set in the areas of patent litigation and data privacy disputes will not only benefit the firm in the Irish market but across Bird & Bird’s international network. Welcome to the firm Ann!

Ann adds: “I’m thrilled to be joining such a well-regarded firm - Bird & Bird is internationally renowned for its expertise in IP, life sciences and data protection and has a reputation for excellence. I already have a strong relationship with the team in Ireland and I look forward to meeting and working closely with my international colleagues."
