International law firm Bird & Bird advised GenIP plc on its listing on AIM, a market operated by the London Stock Exchange, and associated fundraising.
GenIP is a technology business operating within the generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) space, providing two complementary platform-based services - (1) bespoke enhanced research reports assessing the market potential for new technological innovations and discoveries by utilising artificial intelligence (AI) driven proprietary software; and (2) providing executive recruitment services to match technology organisations with experienced executives and business leaders also utilising AI driven software and proprietary data. GenIP combines expert human technical review with GenAI algorithms to provide insightful and verified services.
GenIP is a portfolio company of Bird & Bird’s long-standing AIM-listed client, UK intellectual property (IP) investment group Tekcapital plc.
The Bird & Bird team consisted of partners Clive Hopewell and Fiona McFarlane, together with associates Tamara Akl and Jazmin Cole from our corporate team. Associates James Pearson from our IP team and Rob Collier-Wright from our employment team were also heavily involved in the spin out from Tekcapital and the IPO process.
Clive Hopewell, lead partner on the transaction, commented, “We are delighted to have advised GenIP plc on its recent AIM IPO. We believe that this is a crucial step in GenIP’s roadmap to creating a leading GenAI analytic services company. This deal also demonstrates Bird & Bird’s unrivalled experience in the fast-evolving AI sector.”
Dr Clifford Gross, Executive Chairman of Tekcapital said, “We are appreciative of the excellent work of Clive, Fiona and the entire Bird & Bird team on the GenIP IPO. They are professional, agile and are a pleasure to deal with.”
