International law firm Bird & Bird advises gaming studio Dead Astronauts AB on its seed round.
Founded in 2024 by four games industry veterans aiming to reinvent open world game experiences, Dead Astronauts has technical innovation at its core with player creativity underpinning the games they make.
The Bird & Bird team representing Dead Astronauts was led by partner Martin Folke (Corporate) assisted by Counsel Erik Holmgren (Corporate), and associate Dasha Arntyr (Employment).
Martin Folke, partner at Bird & Bird comments: “It has been a pleasure assisting Dead Astronauts in their seed round. Every fourth person in the world has played a Swedish game, and Swedish game studios continue grabbing market shares. This successful round not only proves the country’s strength in the highly competitive international game industry but also Bird & Bird’s strong offering in this area, providing clients with seamless advice on their gaming-focussed strategic transactions. I’m excited to see what the team will accomplish in the near future.”
Erik Morin, CEO at Dead Astronauts: "Bird & Bird came highly recommended, and has been a valued partner for us at Dead Astronauts. Early stage investment is a difficult area to navigate for new companies and we could rely on their market expertise, and advice from the early on in the process until closing of the seed round. We look forward to continuing and strengthening our collaboration as we build up the studio, and our business."
