Bird & Bird boosts its Intellectual Property practice with the appointment of Mariano Santos as partner in Madrid

International law firm Bird & Bird boosts its Intellectual Property practice with the appointment of Mariano Santos as a partner in Madrid. He joins Bird & Bird's leading Spanish Intellectual Property practice, which is ranked "Band 1" in Chambers Europe 2017.

Mariano joins from Herrero & Asociados where he was International Legal Affairs Manager. He specialises in processing Spanish, European Union and other trademarks, with a particular focus on trademark prosecution, opposition proceedings, appeals, conflict research, strategic advice and negotiations. Additionally, he has considerable experience in managing brand portfolios across Central and South America, and advises Asian (particularly Japanese and Korean), European and US companies on their brand management issues.

Mariano also advises on the full range of internet and information technology issues, including data privacy, open source software, domain names and keyword advertising which will complement our Tech & Comms capabilities across the firm.
