About Me

I am a Of Counsel in Bird & Bird's Intellectual Property department in the Madrid office.

I am recognised for my specialisation in Intellectual Property and Pharmaceutical Law. I have acted in several multi-jurisdictional pharmaceutical patent and Supplementary Protection Certificate cases in Spain.
I have, therefore, extensive experience in patent litigation before the Spanish courts.

Additionally, I assist clients in drafting technology transfer contracts in the areas of pharmaceuticals, biology, electronics and mechanics. I also advise universities, public institutions and private biotechnology entities on issues of ownership of research results. I try to provide creative and practical solutions.

I have been recognized in Chambers as Band 1 Intellectual Property: Patents and Trade Marks and Band 2 Life Sciences: Patent Litigation.

My activity has also an academic profile. I have taught Commercial Law and Intellectual property for 30 years (at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Universidad Pública de Navarra) and I am author of several monographs, like Commentary to the Trade Mark Act (Civitas, 2nd edition 2007) and edition of The pharmaceutical patent (IDEI 1997).
