About Me

As a partner in our Hamburg office, I offer our clients long-standing expertise in renewables, energy networks and complex infrastructure projects. I have been active in the energy sector since 2010, which has provided me with a profound inside knowledge as well as a good understanding of the energy business.

Here at Bird & Bird, I am co-head of our international Energy Networks and Grids Group and our international wind team as part of our international Energy and Utilities Sector Group.

I advise on all aspects of complex EPC and commercial contracts as well as (Corporate) PPAs. My clients range from developers, investors, asset managers, owners, IPPs, utilities to O&M service providers and manufacturers.

Amongst my core focal areas are wind (onshore and offshore), solar, electricity grid (e.g. offshore interconnectors, HVDC transmission lines) and complex infrastructure projects (e.g. with regard to emobility). My advice is targeted at projects during their full lifespan (development, tendering/contracting, financing, construction, and commissioning), including claims and arbitration/litigation. My expertise encompasses advising on project-related corporate/M&A transactions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings.

I have advised on several large-volume EPC contracts, turbine supply agreements (TSAs), balance of plant (BoP) contracts, O&M contracts as well as on other project-related and commercial contracts, both in drafting as well as in claim issues and arbitration/litigation. Furthermore, I have been deeply involved in all grid connection systems in the German North Sea as well as in the NordLink interconnector.

I also bring comprehensive experience as a lead negotiator in complex long-term negotiations.

I am a frequent conference and seminar speaker and publish regularly on topics related to renewables (focus: wind), corporate PPAs and emobility.

Finally, I am a member of the British-German Jurists´Association, the Scientific Business and Corporate Law Association (VGR), the Renewable Energy Cluster Hamburg (EEHH) and the German-Australian Business Council (GABC).
