Bird & Bird Attorneys Ltd. is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Tobias Bräutigam as counsel in the Privacy and Data Protection Group, based in the Helsinki office. He joins from Microsoft, where he was a senior legal counsel with responsibility for privacy and data protection. Originally qualified in Germany, Tobias defended his PhD in information law at University of Helsinki.
Tobias specialises in advising on a range of Finnish and international data compliance projects, including the implementation of global data management strategies, international data transfers and local data protection compliance. He has longstanding experience in the field of privacy compliance, including privacy impact assessments, guideline drafting and incident handling. As a training and awareness officer for privacy, Tobias also has a broad experience in giving training sessions in different formats and to different audiences. He recently led a global project on notification coordinating a pan-European team under extremely tight deadlines.
