International law firm Bird & Bird is pleased to announce the appointment of Carl-Magnus Uggla as a partner in its International Tax group, based in Stockholm.
Carl-Magnus joins from Hannes Snellman Attorneys Ltd where he was a Specialist Partner and headed up the Swedish tax practice.
He has more than 16 years' experience as an adviser in the field of Swedish and international corporate taxation, mainly focussed on complex transactions and structuring, but also contentious and day-to-day tax advice. This appointment supports the firm strategy of building a consistent International Tax team across the network to support our commercial, IP, corporate and other work, whilst also providing self-standing advisory work.
Mathew Oliver, co-head of the International Tax Practice said: "We are very excited to welcome Carl-Magnus to the international tax practice and to further expanding the group with his expert knowledge. I look forward to working together."
Hans Svensson, Head of Sweden said: "On behalf of the entire team in Sweden, we are delighted to welcome Carl-Magnus to the firm. His leadership, technical, business and people skills will play a crucial role in the further development of our tax capabilities in the region."
Carl-Magnus added: "I am very excited to be joining Bird & Bird's well-regarded tax team, who share my vision of working collaboratively across practice areas to win mandates and develop clients in all sectors and jurisdictions served by Bird & Bird."
