International law firm Bird & Bird has advised Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (pbb) on the development financing of two logistics centres in Essen and Mönchengladbach for US real estate company Hillwood.
Pbb is a leading European specialist bank for commercial real estate financing. The loans are in the lower and mid double-digit million range.
Hillwood is one of the world's leading companies in the commercial property sector with 30 years of investment experience in Europe and North America and has a special focus on the development and management of commercial and industry spaces.
The property in Essen will have a warehouse space of 38,567 sqm and is connected to the motorway network (A42). Essen is located in the centre of the Ruhr area, the largest conurbation in Germany with a population of more than 10 million people. The Essen site has a total of 42,447 m2 of modern industrial space. Completion is planned for Q1 2025.
The property in Mönchengladbach will have a warehouse space of 15,260 square metres. The city of Mönchengladbach, has a population of around 270,000, and is located in the west of North Rhine-Westphalia. The city’s excellent transport links and the good availability of qualified experts have already attracted many international companies. Completion is planned for Q4 2024.
